My Approach

My intention is to be relational - not transactional. In a tech savvy world where efficiency can be prioritized over relationships, my partnership with you is about personal care and connection. I do not take a one-size-fits-all approach. I offer a boutique experience with personalized care to my clients who can reach me directly with concerns about services and support needs. I created my practice to offer services to meet your unique needs, and I use a collaborative approach to determine what those might be.

I am a licensed Charlotte therapist with nearly 20 years of professional work experience in both the legal and mental health fields. I have training, expertise, and clinical experience working with clients with emotional and behavioral concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders, relationships, and trauma symptoms. Eating disorders or disordered eating include Binge Eating Disorder, Body Dysmorphia, compulsive overeating, emotional overeating, restricting, purging, and negative body image.

I utilize a person-centered, strengths-based approach. I hold a non-judgmental, affirming, and relaxed space where all clients are welcomed and valued. I find that humor can be incredibly effective in connecting with my clients in therapy and I like to embrace this in working together, while also using a straightforward, non-confrontational, empathetic style.  (Yes, therapy with me can be fun and effective!) â€‹

I offer psychotherapy, skills coaching, and virtual/video sessions to couples and individuals ages 18 and older. I also provide speaking engagements and corporate facilitation through customized presentations, keynotes, and trainings. Among these are Amazon, FoodLion and Chicago Public Schools. As an attorney-turned-therapist, I take a strategic, compassionate and genuine approach to our collaborative partnership.

My practice offers customized experiences and services, such as walk & talk in-person appointments, hybrid sessions, mindfulness and meditation practice and grounding techniques in session. My specialties include, but are not limited to, working on issues in therapy such as anxiety, shame and guilt, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, self esteem and self confidence, complex trauma, people pleasing, boundary setting and relationship issues.

I have skills, experience, and training in treatment approaches and modalities backed by science, including CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Compassion-Based Training, and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).

I implement an integrated method, combining skills and strategies with processing and self-inquiry. I have cultivated specialized skills in the intensive treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, and trauma.

Important values to me encompass dignity, social justice, diversity, and affirmative and inclusive care. I believe everyone deserves collaborative, healing partnership. I practice trauma responsive care and I take a multicultural approach. As a South Asian therapist, many of my clients who identify as people of color share that our cultural connections and similarities in background are beneficial in our therapeutic work together. There is a mutual and shared cultural experience that enhances emotional safety and trust. I also make space for addressing trauma, if you choose, in an emotionally safe way, including racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, and complex trauma. I am an LGBTQI+ and trans informed therapist and a proud member of the Charlotte Transgender Health Care Group.

I believe in addressing the whole self.  We can integrate approaches focused on mind-body-emotion connections and/or spirituality and expansion for those who are interested. We will determine what is best for your care through the therapeutic process together.

True connection can help us remember that all things are possible, and it is my hope that we can work together to find out what is possible for you.

I also offer dynamic and effective speaking services and trainings on a variety of topics, such as:

  • mental health for BIPOC professionals

  • building resilience

  • authenticity in the workplace

  • managing conflict and difficult personalities at work, and

  • stress management for high performers.

I have led groups and facilitated corporate trainings on many issues for a variety of audiences and entities such as lawyers and judges, non-profit organizations, higher education, school systems, clinicians, and BIPOC professionals, offering consultation, focused mental health support, and strategy sessions.

"The brokenhearted are the bravest amongst us. They had the courage to love."
